This screenplay has been optioned by Kimberly Shane O’Hara and
Eric Klein of O’HaraKlein, and also to Freda Ascot of the Ascot company. The project received a grant funded in part by the NEA.  A benefit performance by the nyc Blue Note house band “the As-Is Ensemble” was held and the event was filmed.

Working as a guest artist in residence with the Broadway Theatre Institute, catherine developed three plays with 90 nyc kids, writing with them and later staging for public performance. Catherine has also provided entertainment each year for the Annual BTI Awards Ceremony / Theatre Museum with talents Wendy Wasserstein, Tina Landau, Betty Comden, B.D. Wong, and Stewart Lane.

Catherine is beginning work on an appalachian fiddler film as a co-writer with Eddie Yarrow. Eddie is the writer and director of the feature film Class President, currently in negotiations with Lion’s Gate DVD division, and he directed cath in the lead of his original play Nightbird. He is doing research at a fiddler convention in Virginia August 2005. Hmm is there a role in mind perhaps? Yeee haw!

Meanwhile, Image Group bid on a proposal for a wacky film review show, created by cath and partner cara longo from IFC, and there is a new (tv) project up the sleeve. Plus....Percolating beneath the surface is yet a new screenplay in the erotic thriller vein.
